ROYALS SENIOR HOME CARE · MEDICATION REMINDERS

A little nudge for an important routine.

Busy days and changing routines can make it easy to lose track of time. Medication reminders provide a timely prompt to follow instructions already established by a healthcare professional.

THE EVERYDAY MOMENTS THAT MATTER

A prompt at the right moment.

A regular breakfast time or another familiar part of the day can be a useful reference point. Reminder support follows the existing medication schedule supplied by the family, with a clear contact person for questions.

WHAT SUPPORT CAN LOOK LIKE

A clear schedule.
A timely reminder.

01

Timely reminders

Prompts at the agreed times to help your loved one remember their established medication routine.

02

Routine-based support

Reminders coordinated around the information and schedule supplied by your family.

03

Clear expectations

Discuss how reminders should work and who the caregiver should contact if there is a question about the routine.

ARRANGING MEDICATION REMINDERS

Keep the routine
clear from the start.

01

Share the established schedule

Provide the current written instructions and identify the person responsible for keeping that information up to date.

02

Agree on reminder times

Discuss the prompts needed, how they fit into the day and what the caregiver should do if a reminder raises a concern.

03

Name the right contact

Confirm who to call about a missed, declined or unclear dose. Medication decisions remain with the appropriate healthcare professional.

YOUR MEDICATION REMINDERS QUESTIONS

Before you
make arrangements.

Open a question for a closer look.

Will the caregiver decide which medication to take?

No. Reminder support does not include prescribing, changing doses, administering medication, or making clinical decisions. Discuss the existing schedule and direct medical questions to the appropriate healthcare professional.

Who updates the medication schedule?

Your family should identify who maintains the current instructions and communicates changes. A reminder caregiver does not decide doses or alter prescriptions.

What if a dose is missed or declined?

Agree on an escalation contact before support begins. A caregiver should follow that agreed process; clinical questions must go to the appropriate healthcare professional.
